Long Filename & Path Fixer
Privacy policy — 28 August 2026
Publisher: Vellora Studio One
This Windows desktop utility processes file and folder metadata locally. When you select a folder, it reads names, paths, attributes and filesystem identities to scan and plan renames. Paths and filenames may contain personal information. The app does not read document contents during scanning or renaming and does not change file contents.
The app does not upload files or metadata to the publisher, use analytics or advertising, contact a publisher server, or require an app account. There is no publisher-operated remote data collection or sale of data.
Operation journals are stored under LongPathFixer/History in your Windows Local Application Data folder. They contain original, temporary and proposed paths, file identities, operation times, progress and error messages. They are retained locally to support undo and interruption recovery. Settings store the selected language, compatibility target and scan preferences in LongPathFixer/settings.json. Scanned results are held in memory until replaced or the app closes.
CSV exports and copied paths contain filesystem metadata. Exports are saved only to a destination you choose; clipboard data is managed by Windows. You decide whether to share these with anyone else. Opening a containing folder launches File Explorer, which operates under Windows settings.
You can remove the local LongPathFixer data folder while the app is closed. Removing journals removes the ability to undo or recover those operations through the app. Do not remove a journal while an operation is unfinished. Exported reports remain wherever you saved them until you remove them separately.
Windows, Microsoft Store, antivirus software, network storage and separately installed sync clients operate independently. A report saved in a synced folder may be uploaded by that sync provider. Store purchases, licensing and operating-system diagnostics are governed by Microsoft's own terms, privacy policy and user settings. The app does not receive payment-card details.
This policy applies to Long Filename & Path Fixer and not to other software used to open, synchronize or share files.
