About this app
Generate. Mutate. Make it yours.
Find a starting point for your next guitar, bass or synth idea. Riff Forge creates short musical patterns locally, helping you explore a motif instead of staring at an empty piano roll.
CHOOSE YOUR DIRECTION
Start from metal, blues, funk, punk, doom and dance-inspired presets. Adjust key, scale, tuning, length, tempo, energy and density, then compare a batch of generated riffs.
EVOLVE THE IDEA
Select a riff, inspect its piano roll and simple tablature, and create related mutations. Lock rhythm, notes or endings to keep the parts you like. Save favorites in your local workspace.
HEAR AND EXPORT
Listen with synthesized playback and looping, then export a standard MIDI file to a location you choose. Copy JSON or settings for your own workflow.
WORK OFFLINE
No account, advertising, subscription, in-app purchases or online AI service. Generation and workspace storage happen on your Windows PC. One purchase unlocks the app.
PLEASE NOTE
Riff Forge is an idea-generation tool, not a full DAW or audio recorder. Playback uses synthesized approximations, not realistic sampled guitars. MIDI exports the riff's musical notes, not the preview drum accompaniment or audio effects. Scores are heuristic suggestions, not guarantees of quality, originality or copyright clearance. Favorites and settings are local; back up important exported files yourself.
