VoyageTrace

Clean supported AIS/NMEA and CSV logs locally. Filter vessel positions, inspect the cleanup audit and export segmented tracks to GPX, KML or GeoJSON. Not for navigation.

About this app

Clean voyage logs. Keep vessel tracks separate.

Turn supported maritime text logs into clearer, reusable tracks. VoyageTrace lets you filter local position data, inspect a cleanup audit and export retained track segments to GPX, KML or GeoJSON. No account, subscription or online data feed is needed for processing.

CHECK YOUR LOG FORMAT BEFORE PURCHASE
Supports NMEA 0183 RMC; single-fragment AIVDM/AIVDO AIS position messages 1, 2, 3, 18 and 19; SeaSmart ASCII PCDIN position records (PGN 129025, with PGN 129026 speed when available); and header-based CSV with latitude and longitude. Multipart AIS and raw proprietary NMEA 2000/CAN binary logs are not supported. Time-based checks require valid timestamps; this version does not reconstruct UTC timestamps from AIS or PCDIN records.

A FOCUSED LOCAL WORKFLOW
Open supported text logs or drop them into the workspace. Choose a nine-digit MMSI, a geographic radius and a maximum-speed threshold, or leave the optional vessel and area filters off. Processing runs locally, with progress and cancellation for file-based jobs. Your original logs are read, not rewritten.

SEE WHAT THE FILTERS CHANGED
Review accepted positions and separate audit counts for parse/checksum issues, vessel and radius exclusions, invalid coordinates, duplicates, speed outliers, timestamp exclusions, inferred jumps and detected time gaps. Checksums are checked when present; timing checks depend on valid input timestamps. Audit events are not a count of uniquely removed rows.

EXPORT TRACK SEGMENTS, NOT ONE CONNECTED LINE
Recognized MMSI or source identifiers are kept separate, and valid timestamp gaps longer than 30 minutes start a new segment. Logs without usable vessel identifiers cannot reliably separate multiple vessels: process those logs separately or supply MMSI data. Export the retained positions in GPX, KML or GeoJSON through the Windows Save dialog.

REVIEW AT A GLANCE
Use the north-up coordinate overview to inspect the processed route, and switch between day and night themes. Large previews are sampled and show at most 128 segments; exports use all retained processed positions, independently of the preview. Try the included local test log to explore the workflow.

IMPORTANT LIMITS
VoyageTrace is a data-review tool, not a navigation system. It includes no charts, live AIS feed, weather service, collision avoidance or certified ECDIS output. The displayed distance covers retained track segments, not a reconstruction of the complete voyage. GPX includes available timestamps; KML and GeoJSON exports do not preserve per-position timestamps, speed or course, so these are not lossless log archives. Keep your original files and review outputs in your destination software. Input is read in batches, but parsed positions remain in memory; practical file size depends on available system resources.

One-time purchase. No in-app purchases or recurring service subscription.
