File Date Changer processes files locally on your Windows PC. It does not upload files, transmit file paths or filenames, collect analytics, or require an account.

To display and change filesystem timestamps, it reads file metadata including path, type, size, file identity, and Created / Modified / Accessed timestamps. It does not read file contents for these operations and does not edit embedded photo or document metadata.

Operation history is saved locally to support undo after restarting. It contains paths, original and requested timestamps, actual stored timestamps when available, operation times and result messages. It never contains file contents. Settings are also stored locally.

If you choose Export CSV or Copy metadata, the resulting report or clipboard data contains paths and dates. You control whether to share it with anyone. If you intentionally open a file from the context menu, Windows opens it in its associated application, which has its own behavior and privacy policy.

Cloud placeholders and links are conservatively skipped. Windows, antivirus products, filesystem drivers, and your existing sync clients operate independently of this app. Choosing a report destination in a synchronized folder may cause your sync client to upload that report.

Local operation history is retained until you remove the app data. Removing it prevents undo through the app. The most recent 20 operations are shown in the interface; older metadata is not automatically deleted.
